Tested and certified blinds system for balconies on multi-storey buildings

We are thrilled to announce that we have developed a comprehensive Performance Solution (PS) centred around our Vistaweave 95 and Ziptrak® combination. This innovative combination has undergone rigorous fire testing and certification by qualified fire engineers to ensure safe and compliant external shading installations in multi-story buildings.

ISO 13785-1:2002 testing confirms the safety of Vistaweave 95 and Ziptrak® Performance Solution

Demonstrating our commitment to safety, we proactively invested in cutting-edge ISO 13785-1:2002 fire testing on a simulated Vistaweave 95 and Ziptrak® PS, achieving significant results. This testing demonstrated that under intense heat, the Vistaweave 95 blind material simply shrivels without causing unacceptable flame spread or the release of falling debris, even in the absence of a balcony structure. Further, the Ziptrak® frame structure being made of non-combustible aluminium, the remaining plastic parts also did not contribute to unacceptable spread of flame or falling debris.

These test results, independently verified by IGNIS, definitively eliminate the need for the previously mandated 900mm vertical clearance between blind installations when using the Vistaweave 95 and Ziptrak® PS.

Faster approvals for your high-rise shading projects

Our Vistaweave 95 and Ziptrak® PS is now the only tested and certified frame system that negates the vertical clearance requirement, streamlining the submission process for builders and installers by reducing their reliance on individual certifier assessments.

This innovative approach not only simplifies compliance but also expands the possibilities for utilising high-quality external shading solutions in multi-story residential and commercial buildings.

Education Opportunities: NCC/ Fire Retardancy Panel Discussion at SpecTex & Performance Solution Education at Ziptrak® Training

Join Dominic Nolan for an informative session May 30 at the Specialised Textiles Association’s SpecTex25 event in Melbourne. To register for the Friday event, click here.

If you’re unable to attend SpecTex, further information and training will be provided by Nolan and Ziptrak® as we host events in July and August for fabricators, manufacturers, retailers, and strata management. These events will detail the Vistaweave 95 and Ziptrak® PS and explore the additional benefits and applications of this unique offering, as well as the newly released Ziptrak® Joiner System, which enables the installation of wider blinds in buildings with elevator size restrictions.

Registration for this event will be circulated next month. Email blindandawning@nolans.com.au for more information.
